Mount St. Mary's senior Anna Lebo (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) has been named the Brine/Northeast Conference Player of the Week. Lebo capped off her collegiate career in fine fashion, making 17 saves to lead the Mount to a 1-0 upset win over Northeast Conference regular season champion Monmouth on Sunday.
Lebo's 17-save effort included four in a span of 45 seconds in the last two minutes of the game to preserve the victory. The 17 saves were a season high for Lebo, who finished the season with 121 saves, just three shy of the school record 124 she set last season. Lebo finished her career as the Mount's all-time leader in saves (350), wins (15) and shutouts (10). She also ranks fourth all-time in goals against average (1.80) and save percentage (.771).
Lebo is the first Mount player to earn NEC Player of the Week honors since Tanmy Palmer won the award on September 30, 1996.
The Mount finished the 2007 season with a 5-13-0 record overall and a 3-6-0 mark in the NEC. The Mountaineers set a new school record with four road wins on the season.
