Emmitsburg, Md. (September 29, 2018) - The Mount St. Mary's women's rugby team held on for a 19-15 victory over the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday. Ubaida Ahmed led the Mount with two tries and 21 tackles. Maya Grassi succeeded on two out of three conversion kicks in the win for the Mountaineers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mount scored the first two tries of the day and the only two tries in the first half. Ubaida Ahmed broke free twice for the Mount to score both the tries and Maya Grassi converted the kicks after to put the Mountaineers up 14-0 at the end of the half.
- Navy crawled back into the match by scoring the first try of the second half. Mercedes Banks-Hopkins powered the ball across the touch line for the Midshipmen.
- Molly Stocker scored the only try for Mount St. Mary's in the second half to answer the Navy.
- The Midshipmen touched the ball down across the touch line two more times late into the second half but two failed conversion kicks gave the Mountaineers a 19-15 win.
The Mount travel to West Chester for a match on Saturday, October 13.
