Emmitsburg, Md. (September 22, 2018) - The Mount St. Mary's women's rugby team suffered their first loss of the season to Notre Dame College, 45-7, on Saturday. Graduate student Julie Crochet scored the only try of the match for the Mountaineers and freshman Maya Grassi converted the kick after. Freshman Ubaida Ahmed led the Mount in tackles on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons scored the only four tries of the first half to open the match on a 26-0 run. Saher Hamdan touched the ball down twice in the first half to lead Notre Dame College. Alyssa Riedel succeeded on three of the four conversion kicks after the tries.
- Julie Crochet broke away from the Falcon defense early in the second half and scored the only try of the day for Mount St. Mary's. Maya Grassi converted the kick after to cut into the Notre Dame lead, 26-7.
- The Falcons answered the Mount's try by going on a 19-0 run to end the match. Notre Dame's tries were scored by Anna Benko, Marcaya Bailous, and Ilona Zaishliuk while Alyssa Riedel picked up two more conversion kicks.
- Seven different players combined to score 45 points for Notre Dame College in the win.
Mount St. Mary's will look to bounce back next Saturday, September 29 when they welcome the U.S. Naval Academy for a match at 12 PM.
