EMMITSBURG, Md. - Jackie Kearney (Baltimore, Md./Seton Keough), a member of the Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse team, has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year.

She paced the Mount with 46 ground balls and 34 caused turnovers (10th most on the program's single-season chart) and ranked fourth with 25 draw controls while boasting the best offensive season of her career with 15 goals and seven assists for 22 points in her senior campaign. She was named to the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) first-team, earned a spot on the All-Tournament team and honored as the NEC Defensive Player of the Week twice in 2010. She posted a career-high nine ground balls and six caused turnovers in a 13-3 win against Bryant on Apr. 11. For her career, Kearney finished in fifth place in program history in draw controls (104) and 10th in caused turnovers (70).
