Beallsville, Md. (April 9, 2013) -- The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team dropped 16 strokes from day one's best round at the Hoya Invitational to shoot a final round 347 on Tuesday at The Members Club at Four Streams to place 14th overall with a three-round score of 1076. Amanda Reach led the Mount for the third-consecutive round with an 80 (+8).
Reach finished in a three-way tie for 52nd with a 54-hole total of 251 strokes. The round of 80 carded by Reach on Tuesday was the best by a Mount player during the two-day tournament.
Harin Lee of St. John's fired a third round 69 (-3) to finish with a total score of 215 to take first place overall, while Campbell won the team competition with 894 strokes to finish ahead of Yale in second place with a team total of 907.
For the Mount, Kelsey Hayward's score of 82 (+10) on Tuesday was her best of the tournament as she finished second on the team with a total of 262 to take home 66th place.
Sara Fuss put together her first sub-90 round of the Invitational with an 89 (+17) in round three to place 77th overall with her combined score of 285.
In fourth for the Mount was Nicole Fazio, who finished one stroke ahead of Abbey Fry for the tournament. Fazio completed the 54 holes in 287 strokes, while Fry shot 96 in all three rounds for a 288 final.
Next up, the Mount will host the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational April 15-16 at the Quail Valley Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa. The event will be the final tuneup before the NEC Championships at the end of the month.
