Women's Golf Sits 25th After C&F Bank Invitational First Day

Williamsburg, Va. (March 17, 2013) -- The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team kicked off the spring portion of its schedule with day one of the C&F Bank Invitational at Kingsmill Resort on Sunday. Amanda Reach carded an 82 (+11), which is her best round of the season to lead the Mount. 

As a team, the Mount put together a score of 349 and is currently sitting in 25th place. Reach's 82 is tied for the sixth-best individual round by a Mountaineer during the 2012-13 season.  

Sara Fuss and Nicole Fazio both posted better scores than their best rounds from the fall campaign. Fuss is tied for 105th in the individual competition with a first round of 86 (+15), while Fazio is two shots behind with an 88 (+17) for a tie for 118th. 

Kelsey Hayward and Abbey Fry rounded out the Mount's top five on the day with first-day scores of 93 (+22) and 95 (+24), respectively. 

Boston College shot the low round of the day with a team total of 302. 

The C&F Bank Invitational will resume tomorrow, and action will conclude on Tuesday.
