opening tee... The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team concludes its fall slate at the Sacred Heart Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday. It marks the first time the Mount will compete in the event since 2005.
last time out at that event… Shannon Prettyman finished 20th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a seventh-place standing on Oct. 31, 2005. Prettyman posted an 87 in the first round and an 85 in the second round to finish in 20th place. Megan Wertner (25th place, 175), Molly Gorman (26th place, 176), Kelly Leonard (42nd place, 192) and Maria Ulam (56th place, 222) also competed for the Mount. The Mountaineers posted a 353 in the first round and a 362 in the second round to card a 715 in the two rounds and finish in seventh place.
last time out… Marisol Doglioli finished 58th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a 19th-place standing at the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 6. Dogliloli recorded a 79 in the first round and then posted an 86 in the second round to finish the two-day event with a 165 to finish in 58th place, 19 strokes behind the medalist. Amanda Reach (67th place, 167), Kelsey Hayward (95th place, 174), Nicole Fazio (107th place, 183) and Sara Fuss (111th place, 188) also competed for the Mount. The Mountaineers shot a 339 on the first day and a 350 in the final round to finish with a two-round score of 689 in 19th place.
next on the green... The Sacred Heart Fall Invitational marks the squad's final event in the fall.
making their marks… Freshman Marisol Doglioli has made a name for herself at the Mount, posting five of her first eight collegiate rounds in the 70s and owning the second and fourth-best single round scores in team history and the third, fourth and fifth marks for two rounds in program history.
new to the mountain… Freshmen Marisol Doglioli, Colleen Higgins and Amanda Reach all joined the team in 2012-13.
moving on up… As a team, the Mount women's golf team continued to make improvements in the last four years. During that stretch, the squad has posted all 10 of its Top-10 single rounds and nine of the 10 for two-round standards in program history. Last year, the squad averaged a program record 341.1 strokes per round.
