opening tee... The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team continues their season by participating in the Rutgers Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Mount will be making its eighth appearance in the event and the first since 2009.
last time out at that event… Kelsey Hayward finished 33rd to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a 18th-place standing at the Rutgers Fall Invitational on Oct. 15, 2011. Hayward posted a 77 in the first round and an 84 in the final round to post a 161 in the two rounds, 11 strokes behind the medalist. Sarah Roe (71st place, 171), Christina Hall (86th place, 180), Jen Kim (89th place, 182) and Nicole Fazio (92nd place, 190) also competed for the Mount in the competition. The Mount shot a 343 in the first round and a 352 in the second round to post a 695 in the two rounds to finish in 18th place.
last time out… Marisol Doglioli finished in 12th place to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a ninth-place standing at the ECAC Championships on Saturday. Doglioli carded a 82 in the first round and a 76 in the second round to finish with a two-round score of 158. The 76 in the second round is the fourth-best single round in program history and the 158 over the two days is the fifth-best two-round score in team history. Kelsey Hayward (33rd place, 170), Amanda Reach (38th place, 174), Sara Fuss (46th place, 184) and Nicole Fazio (47th place, 186) rounded out the Mount's five competitors.

making their marks… Freshman Marisol Doglioli has made a name for herself at the Mount, posting four of her first six collegiate rounds in the 70s and owning the second and fourth-best single round scores in team history and the third, fourth and fifth marks for two rounds in program history.
moving on up… As a team, the Mount women's golf team continued to make improvements in the last four years. During that stretch, the squad has posted all 10 of its Top-10 single rounds and nine of the 10 for two-round standards in program history. Last year, the squad averaged a program record 341.1 strokes per round.
