Women's Golf Set To Participate In ECAC Championships Starting On Friday

teeing off…  The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team heads to the ECAC Championship on Friday and Saturday. It will mark the fourth-straight year the Mount will compete in the event and the competition will be held at the Twisted Dunes Golf Course for the third-consecutive season.

last time at that event… Sarah Roe finished 17th to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to an eighth-place standing at the ECAC Championships on Oct. 3, 2011. Roe posted an 82 in the first round and a 79 in the second round to finish the two-round event with a score of 161, 16 strokes behind the medalist. Jen Kim (26th place, 166), Kelsey Hayward (26th place, 166), Nicole Fazio (48th place, 176) and Christina Hall (55th place, 184) rounded out the Mount's five competitors. Kim shot a career-low round of 80 on the final day. The Mountaineers posted a 339 in the first round and then a season-low 330 in the second round to card a 669 in the event. The final round score of 330 was the fifth-best single round mark in program history while the score 669 is the fifth-best two-round total in program history.

last time on the green… Marisol Doglioli posted the second-best single-round total and third-best two round score in program history to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a seventh-place standing at the Highlanders Invitational on Sunday. The event was a 36-hole one-day competition. Doglioli posted an 82 in the first round and then came back in the final 18 holes of the afternoon with a round of 73 to finish in 14th place with a score of 155, 10 strokes behind the medalist. The freshman's one-over round of 73 is second-best in team history only to Megan Corbett's round of 71 in the second round of the NEC Championships on Apr. 25, 2009. Dogiioli also notched the third-best two-round score in program history with Corbett's 154 at the NEC Championships and Autumn Serruta's two-round score of 154 at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Mar. 8, 2011. Kelsey Hayward (38th place, 171), Amanda Reach (42nd place, 181), Abbey Fry (42nd place, 181) and Sara Fuss (46th place, 191) rounded out the Mount's five competitors. The Mountaineers registered a 341 in the first round and a 342 in the second round for two-round score of 683 to finish in seventh place.

next on the green... The Mount returns to action at the Rutger's Fall Invitational on Oct. 5.

making a move in her first year… Freshman Marisol Doglioli has already etched her name into the record books this season. In her collegiate debut, the freshman notched a 78 in the first round to post at the time the 10-best single round score in team history and registered a 36-hole score of 157 to rank third all-time for two rounds at the Tignanelli Invitational on Sept. 10. She then bested both marks in her second event. Doglioli carded a one-over 73 in the second round of the Highlanders Invitational for the second-best single-round score and improved her two-round score by two strokes to bump her total for her collegiate debut to the fourth-best mark.

new to the mountain... Freshmen Marisol Doglioli, Colleen Higgins and Amanda Reach all have joined the team for the 2012-13 season.

from the boot to the mountain…  Freshman Marisol Doglioli comes to the Mount from Aosta, Italy and is the only international golfer on the women's team.
