Women's Golf Picked Eighth In NEC Preseason Poll
EMMITSBURG, Md. - The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team has been picked eighth in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Preseason Poll, announced on Friday.
Three-time defending champions Fairleigh Dickinson was the unanimous preseason favorite while Sacred Heart, Long Island, Robert Morris, Saint Francis (Pa.), Central Connecticut State, Monmouth, the Mount, Wagner, St. Francis (N.Y.) and Quinnipiac rounded out the 11-team field.
Juniors Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) and Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) each paced the Mountaineers in two events in the fall while graduate student Autumn Serruta (Avon, Conn./Avon) was the squad's top finisher in one event. Roe helped the Mount to the Gettysburg College Fall Classic title after being the individual medalist on Sept. 19.
Mount St. Mary's opens the spring portion of its schedule at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Mar. 7.
