Rebecca Dodson Earns NEC Rookie of the Week Honors for Fifth Time

Somerset, N.J. (February 27, 2019) -- Mount St. Mary's bowling freshman Rebecca Dodson was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Co-Rookie of the Week on Wednesday as she earned at least a share of the award for the fifth time on the season.

Dodson helped the Mountaineers clinch the No. 2 seed heading into the NEC Championships with a strong showing at the conference meet this past weekend. The freshman was sensational on Sunday, posting a 23.04 baker frame average while playing a pivotal role in the Mountaineers' 1,175 baker set in their last match against St. Francis Brooklyn. The 1,175 mark is the second-highest five-game baker set in the NCAA this season. Dodson also helped the Mount complete a 93-pin comeback against LIU as she punched out the 10th frame for a one-pin win.

Mount St. Mary's will be back in action on March 8-10 at the USBC Sectionals.
