Mount St. Mary's Women's Bowling Remains Unbeaten At Virginia Union Invite

Glen Allen, Virginia (November 3, 2018) - Mount St. Mary's women's bowling remains unbeaten during the second day of the Virginia Union Invite on Saturday. The Mount posted a 5-0 record on Saturday to remain a perfect 9-0 tournament overall and with the 1,008 set against Morgan State in match five, the Mountaineers were only the second team to shoot over 1,000 all tournament. The 1,008 set propelled the Mount from fifth to fourth in the standings, which made Mount St. Mary's one of four teams to compete for the championship tomorrow. The other three teams are #9 Fairleigh Dickinson, #12 Sacred Heart, and #13 Saint Francis-PA.

The Mountaineers topped Felician, Virginia State, Howard, the host of the tournament, Virginia Union, and Morgan State. Danielle Milo led the way for Mount St. Mary's with a 192.0 average, highlighted by games of 224 in the first match against Felician and 213 in the last match against Morgan State.

"This entire weekend has been a grind and finally in the last match of qualifying we were able to break through for over a 1,000 to sneak us into the top four teams with a chance to win it all tomorrow," said Head Coach Kenneth DeGraaf. "We came in with an ambitious goal of going undefeated with a tournament championship and that goal is still a reality thanks to that big last set. We will leave it all out there tomorrow against some of the best teams in the country and see where the cards fall."
