Brianna Gauthier enters her third season as an assistant coach at her alma mater under head coach Bryan Whitten in 2012-13.

During the 2011-12 season, Gauthier helped the Mount to a six-game improvement after the Mountaineers posted a 14-16 overall mark and a 10-8 record in league play. It was the most overall wins since the 2008-09 year and the squad's first winning mark in the circuit since 2006-07. The Mount returned to the NEC Tournament in 2011-12 to make its 21st appearance in 23 years.

Gauthier has played with or coached four 1,000-point scorers at the Mount. She has also coached one All-Northeast Conference second-team selection.

Gauthier returned to Mount St. Mary's after serving as an assistant coach at Norwich University, a Division III program in Vermont. She joined former Mount women's basketball assistant coach Mark Zacher in his first season as head coach of the Cadets and helped the team to a 20-8 overall record and 10-2 in conference play. Norwich advanced to the conference championship game and received an invite to the ECAC Championships, falling to WPI 70-54 in the opening round on Mar. 3, 2010.

She coached one Defensive Player of the Year, one All-Conference second-team and one All-Conference third-team selection at Norwich.

Gauthier was a four-year letterwinner for the Mount women's basketball team from 2005-2009. She ended her career 18th in program history in all-time career points (1,128), second in 3-pointers made (164), second in 3-pointers attempted (490) and ninth in assists (335) and first in games played (119) and games started (116). She scored a career-high 32 points in her final regular season game against Bryant to earn Northeast Conference co-Player of the Week honors. A three-year team captain, she was named to the NEC All-Rookie team in her freshman year. Gauthier was recognized by the Mount Athletics department with the Kolon Award, which goes to the student-athlete who, through hard work and determination, earned the respect and admiration of his or her fellow athletes and coaches.

She also joined the Mount women's lacrosse team in her senior year and was selected as the Rookie of the Week once.

After graduation, Gauthier briefly played professionally in Sweden before joining the Norwich coaching staff in 2009-10.

She earned her Masters in Business Administration in 2012.
