The Mount St. Mary's Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Teams Return to Action at Dickinson College

February 10, 2017-- The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams compete on Saturday in the Du Charme Invitational hosted by Dickinson College.

MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount men and women were in action last weekend at the Akron Invitational.

For the men, freshman Justin Kimble highlighted the Invitational, posting a time of 6.95 seconds in the 60m dash in the Gold Division preliminaries.  He finished in seventh place in the finals with a mark of 6.97 seconds.  In the 200m dash, Kimble had a time of 21.92 seconds to finish in seventh place in the Gold Division. Julian Woods finished in third place in the Gold Division in the 60m hurdles. In the heptathlon, Christopher Gabor had PR's in four of the events while finishing in fifth-place to qualify for the IC4A Championships.  

Nicolas Fransham and Scott Baker each had personal best marks in the 3,000m run while Sam Shinn and Chase Boyle had good showings in the shot put.  Brenden Chavis was second in the weight throw finishing in second place of the Blue Division while Boyle finished ninth in the Gold Division of the event.

For the women, the weekend was highlighted by Mariah McLane who had a personal-best in the 400m dash to finish in fourth place in the Blue Division. 

CONFERENCE LEADERBOARD:  Brenden Chavis tops the NEC leaderboard in the weight throw this season with teammate Chase Boyle in second place.  On the women's side, Kenedi Facey has the conference's top result in the long jump, right ahead of teammate Natalia Hinton.  Moriah Fitzgerald is tied for the top mark in the women's pole vault, while her teammate Rachel Finn is tied for third place.  Other Mountaineers currently ranked in the top three in the NEC are Justin Kimble (2nd, 60m dash) and (3rd, 200m dash), Julian Woods (3rd, 60m hurdle), Christopher Gabor (2nd, pole vault) and (1st, heptathlon). 

UP NEXT: The Mountaineers will be the Northeast Conference Championships Feb. 17th-18th.
