Mount Track Has Strong Performances at Bucknell Gulden Invitational

Lewisburg, Pa. (January 21, 2017)—Christopher Gabor and Moriah Fitzgerald each finished in second place in the pole vault to pace the Mount St. Mary's Indoor Track and Field teams at the Bucknell Gulden Invitational on Saturday.  Chase Boyle also had a second-place finish in the weight throw for the Mountaineers.

Gabor finished in second place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.35m (14' 3.25") with teammate Colin Waitzman finishing in fourth place in the event at 4.20m (13' 9.25").  Boyle's second-place mark in the weight throw was 17.34m (56' 10.75") with teammate Brenden Chavis finishing right behind in third place with a toss of 17.00m (55' 9.25").  Both Boyle's and Chavis' marks were IC4A qualifiers.

Justin Kimble, the reigning Northeast Conference Athlete and Rookie of the Week, finished third in the 60m dash (7.01) and sixth in the 200m dash (22.64).  Josh Poole had a third-place mark in the 400m dash (51.33) while Zachary Delker was fifth in the shot put (14.94m, 49' 0.25") and Alexander Devine sixth in the shot put (14.87m, 48' 9.5").

Fitzgerald had a vault of 3.55m (11' 7.75") for her second-place finish in the pole vault with teammate Rachel Finn finishing fourth at 3.40m (11' 1.75").  Maddie Kole finished third in the 800m (2:19.45) and Natalia Hinton fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.38.

Kenedi Facey had a big performance in the long jump, posting an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.70m (18' 8.5") to finish in third place.  Erin Sample was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 12.81m (42' 0.5").

The Mount track teams are back in action next weekend at both the Penn State National Invitational and the George Mason Patriot Games.
