Gigi Gibilisco Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors for Second Consecutive Year

Mount St. Mary's senior Gigi Gibilisco has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year. Gibilisco graduated with a 3.92 grade-point average while majoring in Music Education.

A middle-distance runner, Gibilisco was named the Northeast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in both indoor and outdoor track and field this year.

On the track, he extended his reign as NEC 800-meter champion this past May, shattering the meet record with a time of 1:49.86. He also ran the third leg of the Mount's winning 4x400 meter relay team. Gibilisco qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary round in the 800 meters where he crossed the tape in 1:49.88 to finish in 18th place in the field of 48 runners.

He also qualified for the IC4A Championships in his premier event. The Newtown, Pa., native was voted to the Capital One Academic All-District first team to earn a spot on the national All-American ballot. He was named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll each of his four years at the Mount.
