In the top of the second, the Mount loaded the bases before Erin Leddy's two-RBI double followed by Rachel Teti's single up the middle led to a 9-0 advantage.

The Mount put the game out of reach with five more runs in the fifth, sending 10 batters to the plate in the frame.

In the second game against Delaware State (4-15), the Mount scored three runs in the top of the third to take control of the contest. Megan Baker walked with the bases loaded for the first run. The next batter, Clifford, singled through the left side for the second run, followed by Gavigan reaching on a fielder's choice to score Marisa Mayes for a 3-0 lead.

The Hornets got back into the game with two runs on three hits in the bottom of the fifth.

The Mount scored the final run of the day in the top of the sixth on a DSU error, and Pagano shut down the Hornets with 1-2-3 innings in the sixth and seventh for the 4-2 win.

The Mount opens Northeast Conference play with a doubleheader against Bryant beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, and another against Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday, March 24, at noon. Both doubleheaders will be played at Our Lady of the Meadows Field on campus.
