Men's Tennis Returns To Action Sunday At George Mason

The Mount returns to action for the first time of the spring semester with a matchup at George Mason on Sunday, January 28 at 9:00 a.m.

ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount opened the 2017-18 campaign at the Bucknell Invitational, where Senior, Brandon Wortkotter claimed the title at the No. 2 singles flight. Mount St. Mary's followed with competition at the Loyola Invitational, as freshman, Jackson Wood and sophomore, Jean Armstrong took home fifth place after defeating Loyola's Cash and Burch 2-1 in the finals of the North bracket. The Mount duo topped Cash and Burch 6-3 in the doubles match and Wood defeated Cash 6-3, 6-3 but Armstrong was edged 6-2, 6-2. The Mount then hosted its own invitational, where Wortkotter recorded first place in both singles and doubles flight A. The last invitational of the fall season, the Navy Gold Invitational, Jackson Wood could not compete in the fifth place game due to an injury but still walked away from the tournament with sixth place in flight A of singles competition.
