Lamberton Named Valley National Bank Scholar-Athlete Award Winner

Mount St. Mary's senior Jeff Lamberton has been named the Northeast Conference Valley National Bank Scholar-Athlete in men's tennis for the second consecutive year.

Named to the all-NEC second team at #3 singles in 2005-06, Lamberton played an integral role in the Mount's run to the NEC semifinals, winning his last six matches to close out the season. He finished the year with a 16-13 singles record (6-1 NEC) and was 13-13 in doubles action (4-2 NEC). His 16 singles wins is the eighth-best single season mark in school history, while his 13 doubles victories rank him sixth on the all-time Mount list. Lamberton also stands eighth on the school career charts for singles (40) and doubles (32) triumphs.

A first team all-NEC selection at #4 singles in 2004-05, the Glen Burnie, MD product has helped lead Mount St. Mary's to consecutive winning seasons for just the second time since the school elevated to Division I in 1989.

Lamberton maintains a 3.55 grade point average as an Accounting major.
