Men’s Swimming & Diving Closes Out Competition at CSCAA National Invitational

Annapolis, Md. (March 10, 2018) – The Mount St. Mary's men's swimming & diving team closed out competition at the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational on Saturday night at the U.S. Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall.

DAY 1 RECAP | RESULTS

Mount St. Mary's competed in just one event on the opening night of the invite. The Mount's 'A' relay squad of Jonathan Mata, Will Twizell, Ryan Carroll and Brock Cudahy posted a time of 3:26.77 in the 400 medley relay to take 13th place in the event.

DAY 2 RECAP | RESULTS

On day two, Twizell registered the Mount's top finish of the night with a 13th-place showing in the 100 breast with a time of 55.68.

The team's top relay squad consisting of Mata, Aidan McCormick, Thomas de Xavier and John Wilson placed 14th in 200 medley relay in 1:35.00.

In preliminary heats, McCormick notched a time of 56.88 in the 100 breast, while Wilson clocked in at 58.93 and Cudahy finished in 59.91 in the event. Ryan Carroll was the other Mountaineer to compete on day two, posting a time of 50.88 in the 100 fly prelims.

DAY 3 RECAP | RESULTS

On the final night of the invitational, Twizell (2:05.65) and McCormick (2:06.86) registered strong showings in the 200 breast preliminaries, but just missed out on cut for finals heats.

The Mount finished in 21st place in the team standings with 18 points. Navy won the invite, while George Washington and South Carolina rounded out the top-three.
