Men’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Fifth at H2ounds Invitational

Baltimore, Md. (December 2, 2017) – The Mount St. Mary's men's swimming & diving team finished in fifth place at the H2ounds Invitational hosted by Loyola after closing out competition on Saturday night.

FINAL RESULTS

Marist took first place at the invite with 1074 team points, and was followed by Loyola (1025 pts), Iona (629), Saint Peter's (382.5) and the Mount (380.5).

Will Twizell highlighted the night for the Mountaineers with a pair of top-four individual finishes. In the 100 breast, Twizell took third place with a time of 55.77, as the sophomore narrowly missed out on the NCAA 'B' cut by just 0.40 seconds. Aidan McCormick finished fifth in the event in 58.13, while John Wilson (59.15) and Brock Cudahy (59.59) also posted top-10 finishes. Twizell also claimed a fourth-place showing in the 200 fly in 1:53.70 to round out his night.

Nicholas Starvaggi swam to a seventh-place finish in the 1650 free (16:57.69), and John Wilson also earned seventh place in the 200 breast (2:09.17).

In the 1-meter dive, Eiann Bulatao registered a score of 142.65.

The Mount's top relay finish came in the 200 medley, as the squad of John Mata, Twizell, Thomas deXavier and Cudahy claimed fourth place with a time of 1:33.63.

The Mountaineers are off for the remainder of the fall semester before heading off to Orlando in January for their annual training trip.
