Dennis Nabs All-Northeast Conference Second Team Honors

EMMITSBURG, Md. – Zoncher Dennis (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven), a member of the Mount St. Mary's men's soccer team, has been selected to the All-Northeast Conference second team, announced on Thursday.

Dennis, a sophomore forward, posted three goals and one assist for seven points in 2012. After a breakout freshman season in 2011, Dennis was the focal point of every defense the Mountaineers played. The sophomore posted a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win against Bryant on Oct. 5 and also found the twine against Virginia on Sept. 11 and St. Francis (N.Y.) on Sept. 28. Dennis paced the team with 54 shots.

Dennis has recorded 14 tallies and two assists for 30 points in his first two seasons in Emmitsburg. The 14 goals are the eighth most in Mount Division I history. Last season, the sophomore posted 11 goals and one assist for 23 points to garner the NEC Rookie of the Year honors and spots on the All-NEC first team and the College Soccer News All-Freshman first team.

The Mount finished the season 4-12-1 overall and 2-6-1 in NEC play.
