Johnson's First Two Collegiate Goals Fuels Men's Soccer Past Robert Morris, 2-0

EMMITSBURG, Md. – Dillon Johnson (Northport, N.Y./Northport) scored a pair of goals to lead Mount St. Mary's past Robert Morris 2-0 in Northeast Conference (NEC) men's soccer action on Friday night.

Johnson notched his first two collegiate goals in the match. The freshman gave the Mount (4-11-0, 2-6-0 NEC) a 1-0 lead when he found the twine unassisted at 42:03. He then sealed the win off a feeder from Koudzo Komlan (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) at the 86:31 mark.

Peter Steve (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) made seven saves for the Mountaineers in the winning effort.

Mount St. Mary's peppered the goal with 24 shots and Toba Bolaji made 12 saves for the Colonials (4-11-2, 1-6-1 NEC) in the loss.

Thanks to Johnson, the Mountaineers scored in the final five minutes of each half to earn the victory and extend its unbeaten streak against Robert Morris to seven games. Mount St. Mary's has outscored the Colonials 10-0 in the last five matches in the series.

Johnson becomes the fourth Mount player to notch his first collegiate goal this season. Will Jagger (Crowborough, England/Tunbridge Wells Boys Grammar), Mark Plaisance (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) and Patrick Wheeler (Newcastle, Australia/St. Francis Xavier) also recorded their first collegiate tallies this season.

Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Nov. 2 when the squad hosts Sacred Heart in the final home game this season. Game time is 4 p.m.
