Emmitsburg, Md. (December 19, 2017) – The Mount St. Mary's University men's lacrosse team announced its schedule for the 2018 season on Tuesday. The 14-game slate includes six home games at Waldron Family Stadium.
"I really like how our early season schedule plays out to help our young men prepare for conference play in March and April," commented Mount Head Coach Tom Gravante. "We are blessed in the great state of Maryland to have top-20 opponents within a short distance of Mount St. Mary's, and I believe scheduling these opponents helps battle train our players so they will be battle ready in March and April for our tough Northeast Conference games."
The Mountaineers open the 2018 campaign with a matchup at Delaware on February 10 as they face the Blue Hens for the seventh straight season. They follow it up with a tilt on February 17 at Towson, who finished last season ranked No. 4 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and reached the NCAA Semifinals.
Following a February 20 contest at Richmond, the Mount returns to Emmitsburg for its home opener against UMBC on February 23. The following week, Mount St. Mary's hits the road to take on Georgetown (Feb. 27) before heading back home for a pair of matchups versus VMI (Mar. 3) and Mercer (Mar. 10). The Mount has won 10 straight games against VMI and owns a 20-2 all-time advantage in the series.

The Mount closes out the month of March at Sacred Heart (Mar. 31), who the Mountaineers have gone 8-3 against all-time.
The Mountaineers travel to Bucknell for the final non-conference game of the year on April 7 as the two teams face off for the sixth straight season and 19th time overall. The Mount posted a 12-10 victory over the Bison last season, and the two programs have now alternated victories in the previous five meetings dating back to 2013.
Mount St. Mary's jumps back into league play with a home matchup against last year's regular season champs Hobart on April 14, before closing out the slate with contests at Saint Joseph's (Apr. 21) and at home vs. Wagner (Apr. 28).
