February 18, 2013--Mount St. Mary's senior Andrew Scalley (Arnold, Md./Archbishop Spalding) has been named the Northeast Conference men's lacrosse Player of the Week. Scalley opened the year with five goals and five assists over the first two games of the season.
Scalley was tremendous in the Mount's 12-11 win over No. 18 Bucknell on Sunday. The senior attack finished with a career-high eight points on three goals and five assists in the victory. Scalley came up clutch in the final minutes, scoring the game-tying goal with 1:35 left, and then assisting on Cody Lehrer's game-winner just 15 seconds later. Scalley opened the week with a pair of goals in the Mount's season-opening loss at No. 2 Maryland.
Scalley became the 10th player in Mount history to reach 100 career goals with his first goal of the season. He is currently fifth in the nation with 104 career scores. In addition, Scalley is now eighth in the country with 60 career assists.
The Mount is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 23, with a 12:00 p.m. home game with Delaware at Waldron Family Stadium on campus.
