Men's Lacrosse Receiving Votes in Both National Polls
Emmitsburg, Md. (February 27, 2012)—The Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse team, coming off a 12-10 win over No. 16 Delaware on Saturday, is receiving votes in both national men's lacrosse polls this week.
Mount St. Mary's was listed in the also receiving votes section in both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches' Poll and the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll this week.
On Saturday, Daniel Stranix scored three goals to lead the Mount to the 12-10 win over Delaware. Eight different players scored in the game while sophomore goalkeeper Chris Klaiber made 13 saves in his first collegiate start. It is the third all-time win for the Mount over a ranked opponent with all three victories coming since 2010.
The Mount faces a tough test tomorrow when No. 1 Virginia visits Waldron Family Stadium on campus for a 4:00 p.m. face-off.
