The Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse team garnered a pair of weekly honors announced today by the Northeast Conference. Junior Brett Schmidt nabbed his second consecutive Offensive Player of the Week award while senior T.C. DiBartolo was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Schmidt tallied three goals and an assist in the Mount's thrilling 12-11 victory over preseason favorite Robert Morris on Saturday. Schmidt scored late in the third quarter to give the Mount a 9-8 lead and his goal with 6:21 left in the game lifted the Mount to an 11-9 advantage. Schmidt has moved into a tie for the team lead with 25 points (15g, 10a), having scored 14 points over his past three games.
DiBartolo made 12 saves in the Mount's 12-11 win over Robert Morris, including several in one-on-one situations. He added six ground balls in the game as well. DiBartolo is five saves shy of matching the Mount's school record of 655 career saves set by Sean Elder (1997-00).
The Mount hosts Georgetown Tuesday night at Waldron Family Stadium. Game-time is set for 7:00 p.m.
