APALACHIN, N.Y. – Ryan Triller (Street, Md./North Harford) finished 12th to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's golf team to a 10th-place standing at the Binghamton Fall Invitational on Monday.
Triller shot an even round of 72 on Sunday to come into the final round four strokes behind the leader. The sophomore posted a four-over round of 76 in the final round on Monday to finish the two-day competition with a score of 148 in 12th place, eight strokes behind the medalist.
Tonny Aizpun (Barcelona, Spain/Lycee Francais De Barcelone) (26th place, 152), Andrew Lawton (Severna Park, Md./Mount St. Joseph ) (44th place, 157), Mike Pansini (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) (60th place, 161) and Mike Shine (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) (67th place, 164) rounded out the Mount's five competitors in the event. Shine and Pansini made their collegiate debut in the event.
Laval won the two-day event with a score of 586, 12 strokes ahead of Saint Peter's (598) and Hofstra while Bucknell (600) and Binghamton (601) rounded out the top five teams in the competition. The Mount posted a 305 in the first round and a 308 in the second round to card a 613 in the event to finish in 10th place.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate on Oct. 15.
