APALACHIN, N.Y. – Ryan Triller (Street, Md./North Harford) finished fourth in the first round to the lead Mount St. Mary's men's golf team to an eighth-place standing at the Binghamton Fall Invitational on Sunday.
Triller finished the opening day with an even round of 72 to finish in fourth place, four strokes behind the current leader. The sophomore was one of nine players to post an even round or better on Sunday.
Tonny Aizpun (Barcelona, Spain/Lycee Francais De Barcelone) (31st place, 77), Andrew Lawton (Severna Park, Md./Mount St. Joseph ) (31st place, 77), Mike Shine (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) (47th place, 79) and Mike Pansini (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) (68th place, 84) rounded out the Mount's five competitors in the event. Shine and Pansini are making their collegiate debut in the event.
Laval leads the two-day event with a score of 291, five strokes ahead of Bucknell (295) while Hofstra (297), Saint Peter's (297), St. Bonaventure (302) and Binghamton (302) rounded out the top five teams in the field. The Mount sits in eighth place with a score of 305.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action in the final round of the Binghamton Fall Invitational on Monday.
