TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team placed 18th at the Seminole Intercollegiate on Sunday. Dan Michalek (Mount Airy, Md./Mount St. Joseph) was the squad's top performer with a 64th-place finish.
Michalek posted a 77, 75 and 75 in the three rounds to post a 227 in the invitational to finish 64th, 19 strokes behind the medalist.
Tonny Aizpun (Barcelona, Spain/Lycee Francais De Barcelone) (77th place, 230), Devin O'Grady (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) (87th place, 233), Ray Hyre (Bowie, Md./Bowie) (90th place, 236) and Sage Smith (Denver, Colo./Brophy) (96th place, 257) round out the Mount's five competitors.
Eighteenth-ranked Arkansas won the three-day event with a total of 844, three strokes ahead of Kennesaw State (847) while Florida State (849) while North Texas (850) and Houston (865) round out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Mount placed 18th after carding a 318, 306 and 301 in the three days for a total of 925.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action at the Penn Quaker Classic on Apr. 4. The event will be a one-day two round event.
