Mount St. Mary's extended its win streak to four games with an 83-71 victory over LIU Brooklyn on Thursday night. Trailing by four with 12:25 left, the Mount went on a 24-to-6 run to take control of the game. Rashad Whack scored eight of his game-high 26 points during the decisive spurt. Shivaughn Wiggins added 13 points while Sam Prescott chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds in the victory.
* Sam Prescott was named the Choice Hotels/Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Prescott averaged 31.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in leading the Mount to a pair of wins. He scored a career-high 44 points in the Mount's 84-70 victory over Bryant before adding 18 in the win over CCSU. He is the first Mount player to earn NEC Player of the Week honors since the 2009-10 season.
* The Mount St. Mary's offense has been clicking, averaging 85.3 points over the past three games, topping the 80-point plateau in all three games. It is the first time since 2007-08 that the Mount has had three consecutive games with 80 or more points.
* The Mount has won its past five home games, and is 9-2 this season at Knott Arena. Mount St. Mary's is 43-21 (.672) at home over their past 64 games at Knott Arena, and are 48-23 (.676) over their past 71 NEC home games.
* Mount St. Mary's is 222-for-655 (.339) from three-point range this year, the second-most three-pointers made and attempted in a season in school history. The 1995-96 team owns both records, going 255-for-671 from three-point range that year.
