Emmitsburg, Md. (November 9, 2012)--The Mount St. Mary's Athletic Department has announced that all ticket revenue and proceeds from the men's basketball home opener against Hartford, on Tuesday, November 13, will be donated to Catholic Charities USA for their hurricane relief efforts.
Also, Mount St. Mary's student-athletes will be collecting food and supplies to donate to shelters in the Northeast. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and snacks, toiletry items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving cream) for adults and children, first aid and medical supplies (band aids, antibacterial ointment/gel, aspirin, etc.), feminine hygiene products, batteries (all kinds, but especially D batteries), small flashlights, baby food, paper towels, small games and toys for children, pet food and sweatshirts.
In addition to the game proceeds, the Mount will welcome any monetary donations as well.
Tip-off for the home opener is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Knott Arena.
