Men's Basketball to Face Robert Morris Saturday Afternoon

Mount St. Mary's welcomes Robert Morris to Knott Arena for a Saturday afternoon matchup in the school's Winter Homecoming game. The Mount is coming off a 64-51 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) on Thursday night.
Freshman walk-on Kelvin Parker paced the Mount with a career-high 20 points in the victory on Thursday. Parker was 8-for-13 from the field and 4-for-7 from three-point range in the game. Josh Castellanos added 15 points and seven assists with Julian Norfleet chipping in 11 points in the win.
Parker has been playing well for the Mountaineers, averaging 15.7 points over the past three games. He is averaging 8.4 points and 4.0 rebounds on the year, having started the past 19 games.
Castellanos has also been on a hot streak for the Mount, averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds over the past two contests. He scored a career high 19 points, including the game-winning free throws with 6.8 seconds left, in the 81-80 double-overtime win at Sacred Heart last Saturday.
Robert Morris is 16-8 overall and 7-4 in the NEC so far this season, but is coming off back-to-back losses to St. Francis (N.Y.) (81-68) and Wagner (80-69). In the loss to Wagner on Thursday night, Brandon Herman scored 11 points off the bench to lead the Colonials. Leading scorer Velton Jones, who is averaging 17.0 points per game, was held to nine points on 2-of-15 shooting in the game. Coron Williams is the other Colonial in double figures this season at 11.1 points per game.
The Mount and Robert Morris are familiar foes as the teams have met 17 times since the 2005-06 season. Robert Morris has a 12-5 record against the Mount over that span, and now holds a narrow 26-25 lead in the all-time series. The two squads met in the NEC Tournament five consecutive seasons from 2006-10.
Mount St. Mary's, winners of back-to-back games for the first time this season, closes out its three-game homestand on Wednesday, Feb. 8, against Wagner at 7:00 p.m.
