Emmitsburg, Md. (August 30, 2010)-Mount St. Mary's University men's basketball head coach Robert Burke has announced the addition of Evan Cleveland (Fort Wayne, Ind./Elmhurst) for the 2010-11 school year. Cleveland has signed with the Mount and is currently in classes, which began last Wednesday.

Cleveland, a 6-6, 205-pound forward, was named All-Area and Second Team All-Conference after leading Elmhurst High School to the sectional and regional title before falling in the state semifinals his senior year. He averaged 12 points, six rebounds and three assists as a senior while helping lead Elmhurst to a 22-7 record. He was selected for the Indiana vs. Ohio All-Star game and was named a 3A All-Star as well.

"Our staff and our players are extremely excited to have Evan Cleveland join us. He comes from a part of the country that is known for outstanding high school basketball and his addition gives our program another player who played a prominent role on a championship team," said Burke. "Evan is a smart, athletically talented and versatile player who has very good vision. In addition, I am encouraged by Evan's enthusiasm for being at The Mount."

Cleveland joins Josh Castellanos (Orlando, Fla./Orlando Christian Prep) and Julian Norfleet (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) to round out this year's recruiting class.
