Causa and Kuypers Named to CPL National All Star Team

July 7, 2018 -- Mount St. Mary's University shortstop Patrick Causa and pitcher Michael Kuypers were named to the Coastal Plain League (CPL) National All Star Team this past week, as the duo is set to represent the Florence RedWolves in the All Star Game on July 9 at Lexington County Stadium in Lexington, South Carolina. 

Causa was named the starting shortstop for the National Team, as he leads the CPL in in batting average (.405) and on-base percentage (.505), while ranking third in the league in slugging percentage (.557). Causa was also the starting shortstop for the CPL's select team in their game against the USA Collegiate National Team in late June.

Kuypers has been one of the best pitchers in the CPL this season, registering a league-best four wins with a stingy 1.93 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched.
