Mount St. Mary's Baseball Announces Hiring Of Assistant Coach Jeff Gergic

Emmitsburg, Md. (September 15, 2017) -- Mount St. Mary's University baseball head coach, Scott Thomson, has announced the addition of Jeff Gergic as the Mount's recruiting coordinater and assistant coach on the staff for the upcoming 2018 season.

"Jeff will be in charge of recruiting the Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey area. He brings a tremendous amount of baseball knowledge to our team and this will definitely help us achieve our goals of having winning seasons and championships," said Thomson.

Gergic has coached and trained players at all levels as well as collegiately at Elizabethtown College from 1988–1997. He's been involved with high school age players through various travel teams over the last seven years and has a proven track record of recruiting and developing while mentoring athletes to prepare them to be successful college baseball players.

Gergic is from Hershey, Pa. and has 30 years of coaching experience on his resume. He pitched and played shortstop on the 1982 Hershey High School State Championship team, and played collegiately at Elon in North Carolina.
