MOUNT UPDATE:  The Mount went 1-3 in its four-game Northeast Conference series with LIU Brooklyn last weekend.  Andrew Clow had a big series for the Mount, hitting 8-for-14 (.571) with a double, a triple, two home runs and eight RBI.  Zach Hostetter was 8-for-15 (.533) with three doubles and a homer while Kory Britton was 8-for-16 (.500) in the series.  LIU earned a 16-5 win in the opening game of the series, and the teams split the Saturday twinbill.  The Mount won 6-2 before falling 12-5 in the second game of the doubleheader.  On Sunday, LIU posted a 23-11 victory.

 ABOUT SACRED HEART:  Sacred Heart entered Wednesday's game at Yale with a 17-11 overall record and a 4-0 mark in the Northeast Conference.  The Pioneers won three of four games against NJIT last weekend, splitting a doubleheader on the road before posting a sweep at home on Sunday.  Sacred Heart leads the NEC in pitching with a team ERA of 3.03, which is 42nd in the nation.  Kody Kerski is the top starter, posting a 5-1 record with a 1.52 ERA in 47.1 innings of work.  Jason Foley (2-1, 1.67), Jeff Stoddard (3-0, 3.09) and Nick Leiningen (2-3, 4.38) are the other conference starters for Sacred Heart.  Conor McEvoy leads Sacred Heart with a .393 average in 19 games.  Jayson Sullivan (.308), Zack Short (.299) and Keith Klebart (.293) are also having solid seasons at the plate.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES: Sacred Heart has won the past 16 meetings against the Mount to take a 31-12 lead in the all-time series.  The Mount's last win against Sacred Heart was a 10-6 victory on May 16, 2009, in the final game of the regular season.  The Mount has not won at Sacred Heart since a 3-2 victory on April 19, 2008.  The Mount is 5-17 all-time on the road against the Pioneers.

LAST YEAR'S SERIES:  Sacred Heart swept a four-game set at Mount St. Mary's on May 9-11 last season.  The Pioneers won 7-5 in the opener, swept the doubleheader (7-1, 6-2), and took the final game 9-6.  Mo Moriarty hit .429 (6-for-14) while Nick Walker hit .357 (5-for-14) to lead the Mount in the series.  Dave Boisture led Sacred Heart with a .533 average in the four games as the Pioneers hit .360 as a team in the series.

CLOW RANKED 14th IN NATION IN HITTING, :  Mount St. Mary's catcher Andrew Clow leads the Northeast Conference and is ranked 14th in the nation with a .410 average.  Clow is coming off a terrific week where he hit .556 (10-of-18) with a double, a triple, two home runs and 10 RBIs.  Clow posted an OPS of 1.777 for the four-game series with LIU, and he has an OPS of 1.007 for the season.

TRENDS:  Kory Britton is hitting .333 over the past 10 games, and has raised his average to .303…Britton is second on the team with 18 RBI…Freshman Andrew Frazier is hitting .345 over the past 10 games, scoring a team-high 10 runs over that span…Vincent Molesky is 2-1 with a 3.22 ERA over his past four starts…He has 21 strikeouts in 22.1 innings in that stretch…Andrew Clow has a slugging percentage of .600 over the past 15 games.

WORKHORSE:  Senior right-hander Nick Riley has been a workhorse out of the Mount bullpen this year, appearing in 15 of the team's 24 games.  Riley is 2-0 with a 3.68 ERA and four saves in 22.0 innings on the season.  Riley has struck out 14 and walked just three for the year.

MULTIPLE HIT GAMES:  Andrew Clow leads the Mount with 10 multiple-hit games while Zach Hostetter is second on the team with nine.  The Mount has had a player record three hits in a game 14 times this year, led by Kory Britton and Clow, who each have done it four times.

NON-CONFERENCE GAMES:  Mount St. Mary's is 7-9 this season in non-conference games after the 3-2 win at Maryland.  Last year, the Mount went 5-11 during the non-conference portion of the schedule.

AT STRAW:  The Mountaineers are 5-4 at home this season, including a four-game sweep of NYIT in mid-March.   The Mount has not had a winning season at home since 2010.

BIG WEEKEND:  Mount St. Mary's swept its four-game series with NYIT on March 15-16.  It was the Mount's first four-game sweep of a series since April 2009 against Fairleigh Dickinson.    It was the Mount's first four-game win streak since March of 2012.  The last time the Mount won five in a row was to close out the regular season in 2007. 

LAMONT FLIRTS WITH NO-HITTER:  Left-hander Karl Lamont flirted with a no-hitter in his last start for the Mountaineers.  Lamont tossed 6.2 innings of no-hit ball before Lehigh's Tyler Brong singled up the middle to break up the no-hit bid.  The Mountain Hawks then scored four times off Lamont in the eighth to rally for the 5-1 victory.  Lamont is 1-2 with a 4.36 ERA in six starts this season for the Mount.  He has struck out 27 batters and walked just six in 33.0 innings of work.
