TEANECK, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Mount St. Mary's 4-1 in Northeast Conference (NEC) baseball action on Sunday.
Eric Anderson smacked a two-run homer and added a hit, and Kyle Weeks hit a solo homer to help the Knights' (23-23-1, 17-11 NEC) earn a split in the four-game series.
Fairleigh Dickinson broke a scoreless standstill in the sixth thanks to Anderson's two-run homer to right.
The Mount answered with a run in the seventh. Winter led off the inning with a double to left field and Mo Moriarty (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) put runners on the corners with a single through the left side. Moriarty moved to second on a passed ball. Clow brought home Winter on an RBI ground out to second to trim the margin to 2-1.
The Knights added a run in the seventh thanks to an error and Weeks smacked a solo shot in the eighth to seal the 4-1 win.
Chris Campbell (Centreville, Va./Centreville) started for the Mount and held Fairleigh Dickinson off the scoreboard until the seventh. He surrendered three runs (two earned) on six hits in seven innings. Andrew Schrock (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and Chris Del Vecchio (Fallston, Md./St. Paul's School) combined to toss the final inning.
Mount St. Mary's concludes the season with a four-game series at home against Central Connecticut State. The first game will be a nine-inning contest on Thursday at 3 p.m. at ET Straw Family Stadium.
