MOUNT UPDATE:  Mount St. Mary's lost at Towson, 10-5, on Tuesday to fall to 12-28 overall and 5-15 in the Northeast Conference.  Brandon Scott went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer in the loss.  The Mountaineers have going 7-19 over their past 26 games after a season-high four-game win streak in mid-March.  Mark Quaranta leads the Mount with a .364 average and 28 runs scored.  Michael Foster is hitting .301 while Josh Winter leads the team with 33 RBI.  On the mound, Thomas Williams is 3-2 with a 5.08 ERA in a team-high 51.1 innings pitched.

MONMOUTH UPDATE:  Monmouth enters the weekend series 22-15 overall and in second place in the Northeast Conference with an 11-5 league mark.  The Hawks have won nine of their past 12 games.  Jamie Rosenkranz leads a balanced offense with a .333 average and 32 runs scored.  Ed Martin, who is hitting .407 in NEC games, has a .319 average while Danny Avella has a .274 average, 12 doubles, four home runs and 28 RBI. On the mound, Pat Light is 5-3 with a 2.84 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 63.1 innings of work.  Light is 3-1 with a 1.12 ERA in four NEC starts, striking out 38 while walking just two in 32.0 innings.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES vs. MONMOUTH:  Monmouth has dominated the all-time series, holding a 57-15 advantage since the Mount moved to NCAA Division I in 1989.  The Hawks have won eight of the past 10 meetings over the past three seasons and are 25-7 all-time at home against the Mountaineers.  Last season, the Mount dropped three of four in the season-ending series at the Mount's E.T. Straw Family Stadium.

LAST YEAR AGAINST THE HAWKS:  Monmouth won three of four games in last year's series at the Mount's E.T. Straw Family Stadium.  Monmouth captured the first two games of the four-game set (9-2, 7-2) before the Mount earned a 3-2 win in game three.  Monmouth closed the series with a 12-3 win in the final game.  The Mount hit just .209 in the series, scoring 10 runs in the four games.  Mark Quaranta was 3-for-7 (.429) at the plate while Sam Nott went 3-for-7 (.429) with two home runs.  Nick Riley pitched 4.1 scoreless innings of relief with seven strikeouts in a pair of appearances.  Ed Martin went 5-for-13 (.385) for the Hawks while Nick Pulsonetti had two home runs and seven RBI in the series.

CAREER NUMBERS VS. QUINNIPIAC:  Sam Nott is hitting .538 (7-for-13) with two home runs and five RBI in six career games vs. the Hawks…Michael Foster is hitting .292 in six career games…Mark Quaranta is hitting .308 (4-for-13) in seven games (three starts) …Josh Winter is 7-for-28 (.250) in nine games.

ROAD WARRIORS:  The Mount is in the midst of a 17-game road trip that will have a 32-day gap between home games.  The Mount is 1-5 over the first six games of the trip that will see the team play in eight different cities.  . 

LEAGUE LEADER:  Senior Josh Winter leads the Northeast Conference with 33 RBI this season.  Winter is hitting .291 on the season with 10 doubles and four home runs.  He is fifth all-time at the Mount with 104 career RBI.

HIT PARADE:  Junior Mark Quaranta currently leads the Northeast Conference with 52 hits this season and is second in the league wit a .364 average.  .  Quaranta leads the Mount with 28 runs scored while he also has nine doubles, four home runs and 29 RBI.  Quaranta is currently seventh all-time at the Mount with a career .332 average. 

FOSTER HAVING SOLID CAMPAIGN:  Michael Foster is hitting .301 this season with 25 runs scored.  In NEC play, the senior infielder is hitting .307 with 11 runs scored in 20 games.

MO-MENTUM AT THE PLATE:  Mo Moriarty has given the Mount a lift at the plate, hitting .400 with eight RBI in NEC games.  Moriarty is hitting .406 over the past 15 games to improve his season average to .344.

FRESHMAN SUCCESS:  Freshman right-hander Thomas Williams leads the Mount with three wins and 51.1 innings pitched.  He is 2-1 with a 3.91 ERA over his past four appearances (23.0 IP) to move to 3-2 with a 5.08 ERA on the season.

ON THE BASE PATHS:  Sophomore Nick Walker leads the Mount with 11 stolen bases this season.  He has yet to be caught stealing in 2012 and his 18 career steals are tied for 10th on the Mount's all-time list.
