MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's enters Tuesday's matchup at Towson 12-27 on the season after dropping three of four games at Quinnipiac over the weekend. The Mount downed the Bobcats, 7-6, on Sunday to snap a four-game losing streak. Freshman Thomas Williams picked up the win while Nick Walker and Mo Moriarty each went 2-for-3 with a home run in the victory. Mark Quaranta continues to pace the Mount with a .362 average on the year. Moriarty, who hit .500 over the weekend, is hitting .344 while Michael Foster is at .307 for the year. On the mound, Williams is 3-2 with a 5.08 ERA to pace the staff.
ABOUT THE TIGERS: Towson dropped two of three games at Elon this past weekend to fall to 18-18 on the season. The Tigers are 9-6 in the Colonial Athletic Association and are 10-3 at home this season. Peter Bowles leads the team with a .345 average while Dominic Fratantuono is hitting .327 with 20 RBI. On the mound, Brandon Gonnella is 3-2 with a 2.66 ERA in 11 appearances (six starts) while Michael Trionfo is 6-1 with a 2.72 ERA in 46.1 innings.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES vs. TOWSON: Towson has won four in a row against the Mountaineers and holds a 16-2 edge in the series since the Mount's move to NCAA Division I in 1989. The Tigers posted a 12-3 home win over the Mount on March 17, 2010, in the last matchup between the two schools. The Mount's last win over Towson was a 9-4 road victory on March 1, 2006.
