SCHEDULE NOTE:  The Mount and Sacred Heart are playing doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday due to the weather forecast.  Friday's twinbill will be a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning contest while Saturday's DH will have a seven-inning game followed by a nine-inning contest.

MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's snapped a five-game losing streak with a 10-6 win at Navy on Wednesday.  Nick Walker, Ryan Owens and Sam Nott each had three hits in the victory as the Mount pounded out 16 hits in the game.  Chris DelVecchio improved to 2-0, allowing three runs in five innings while recording five strikeouts.  Mark Quaranta remains hot at the plate, leading the Mount with a .408 average and 16 runs scored. Josh Winter is hitting .346 with an NEC-best 22 RBI.  On the mound, Dan Horner is 1-1 with a 3.10 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 20.1 innings of work.

ABOUT THE PIONEERS:  Sacred Heart enters this weekend's four-game series 3-13 overall and 2-2 in the NEC.  The Pioneers have lost three straight after winning the opening two games of their four-game series with Central Connecticut State last weekend.  Chris McEvoy leads the team with a .345 average while Hunter Phillips (.339) and Dave Boisture (.328) are also among the NEC's league leaders in hitting.  Rob Griffith has two home runs and is tied for the team lead with Dan Perez with 10 RBI.  On the mound, Troy Scribner is the top starter, posting a 1-3 record and a 5.91 ERA in four starts. 

THE ALL-TIME SERIES vs. SACRED HEART:  Sacred Heart has won the past eight matchups between the two schools and holds a 23-12 lead in the all-time series that began in 2000.  Last year, the Hawks posted a four-game sweep at the Mount's E.T. Straw Family Stadium.  The Mount's last win over Sacred Heart was a 10-6 win on May 16, 2009, in the final game of the regular season.  Mount St. Mary's is 5-13 all-time on the road against the Pioneers.

LAST YEAR'S SERIES WITH THE PIONEERS:  Sacred Heart swept a pair of doubleheaders last year at the Mount. In the opening doubleheader, Sacred Heart's three-run homer in the eight completed a rally from a 3-0 deficit in a 5-3 victory in game one.  The Pioneers cruised to a 10-2 win in the second game.  In the second twinbill, Drew Schifano tossed a two-hit shutout in a 7-0 Sacred Heart win in game one.  A late Mount rally came up short in a 10-8 loss in game two.  Mark Quaranta and Shane Eyler each went 5-for-12 at the plate with a home run and three RBI for the Mount in the series.  Dan Horner had a 1.59 ERA in 5.2 innings pitched.

MOUNT CAREER NUMBERS vs. THE PIONEERS:  Josh Winter is hitting .357 (10-for-28) in his career against Sacred Heart…Winter went 0-for-4 in two games last year against the Pioneers…Mark Quaranta has a .316 career average in seven games against SHU.

QUARANTA ON HOT STREAK:  Junior Mark Quaranta has been on a hot streak for the Mount, hitting .460 (23-for-50) with 10 runs scored over the past 12 games.  Quaranta leads the Mount and is second in the Northeast Conference with a .408 average.  He leads the team with 16 runs scored, a .452 on-base percentage and a .553 slugging percentage.  Quaranta is hitting .336 (108-for-321) in 104 career games at the Mount, good for fifth on the school's all-time list.

WINTER LEADS NEC IN RBIs:  Senior Josh Winter leads the Northeast Conference with 22 RBI this season.  The first baseman, who is hitting .345, has a .467 average (14-for-30) with runners in scoring position this season.  He has improved his career average to .295 while he is now tied for 10th all-time at the Mount with 93 runs batted in.

HEALY'S WALK-OFF:  Tom Healy belted a walk-off two-run homer to lead the Mount to a 10-9 win over Georgetown on March 14.  It is the seventh walk-off home run by a Mount player since the 2004 season.  Healy has two home runs this season, with both coming over the past three games.

HORNER COMES UP BIG:  Senior Dan Horner was almost unhittable in the Mount's 9-6 win in 11 innings at James Madison.  Horner struck out six and allowed just one hit in five innings of relief to earn the win in the game.  Horner is 1-1 this year with a team-best 3.10 ERA.  He has recorded 23 strikeouts in 20.1 innings of work.

WELCOME BACK BRADY:  Left-hander Brady Feigl is 0-2 with a 3.68 ERA so far this season after missing the 2011 season due to injury.  Feigl has struck out 19 batters in 14.2 innings of work and is holding the opponents to a .189 average so far this year.

THIS AND THAT:  Freshman Ryan Owens is hitting .421 (8-for-19) at the plate over the past six games…Sam Nott is hitting .625 (5-for-8) over the past two games…Nick Riley has made four appearances over the past six games, posting a 3.38 ERA.
