Former Mount Baseball Star Dustin Pease Having Success in Padres Organization

Former Mount St. Mary's baseball pitcher Dustin Pease is having success in the San Diego Padres organization with the Lake Elsinore Storm.

Pease, a left-hander, leads the Class A Advanced California League with 23 appearances this year.  He is 0-3 with a 3.00 ERA and one save in his 23 appearances.  Pease has 20 strikeouts in 27.0 innings of work and is holding the opposition to a .235 average.

Pease, pictured in the pink uniforms that the Storm wore on Mother's Day, posted a 31-18 record in his four seasons at Mount St. Mary's with a 4.05 ERA and 304 strikeouts in 347.0 innings pitched. He left the Mount as the program's all-time leader in wins, strikeouts, appearances and innings pitched. Former teammate Mike Matta broke Pease's school record for appearances in 2010.

Pease was named a Division I Freshman All-American and NEC Rookie of the Year in 2004 while garnering All-NEC honors as a freshman and junior.  He was the NEC Pitcher of the Year as a junior in 2006.
