Doug White, who is in his 34th year working in the Mount St. Mary’s athletic department, has been the Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations since June 2006.
White’s duties as Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations include supervising day-to-day operations of Waldron Family Stadium, E.T. Straw Family Stadium and Our Lady Of The Meadows Field. This will include the scheduling of all activities and practices for the new Lawrence Horning, Sr., Field, a new synthetic field provided by FieldTurf. In addition, White will now oversee all purchasing of equipment, uniforms and practice gear for the entire athletic department. He will also work in conjunction with the director of conferences and special events for the scheduling of outside groups to use the Mount athletic fields.
White, who has been the Supervisor of Facilities the past 11 years, began working in the Mount St. Mary’s athletic department as assistant equipment manager in 1977. In 1983, White was elevated to the role of full-time equipment manager. He graduated from the Mount in 1983 and earned an MBA from Mount St. Mary’s in 1997.
White and his wife Sue reside in Gettysburg, Pa., with their daughter, Rhianna.
