Michelle Mallett begins her fourth year as an assistant athletic trainer at the Mount in 2012-13.

Mallett came to Emmitsburg after earning her Masters Degree of Science in Kinesiology at Louisiana Tech University. She provided athletic training services to the Bulldogs cross country, track and field and volleyball programs while serving as a graduate assistant. Mallett also helped with the organization and management for the 2008 Western Athletic Conference baseball tournament.  In addition, she was responsible for creating Emergency Action Plans for five facilities and co-developed a policy and procedure manual for assisting incoming graduate assistants to adjust personally and professionally to Louisiana Tech.

"I am excited to be here at Mount St. Mary's," said Mallett. "The Mount has the sense of a tight-knit community that I enjoy and I look forward to being a part of that community."

Mallett was also a graduate assistant in the Kinesiology Department for two years. She organized and managed the Ruston Peach Tree Classic volleyball tournament for high school club organizations at the university and also taught undergraduate courses.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree in athletic training at South Dakota University. While working on her undergraduate degree, Mallett served as an athletic training intern and also worked at Children's Care Hospital and School as a patient care assistant.

Mallett also participated in the Helping Everyone Reach Optimal Health program for two years and served as a volunteer health care assistant for six years at the Jenkins Living Center. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and holds a certification in CPR and AED for the professional rescuer.
