Emmitsburg, Md. (January 3, 2018) – Juliette Lawless of the women's basketball team and Junior Robinson of the men's basketball team have been named Criswell Chevrolet Student-Athletes of the Month for December.
Lawless averaged 12.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in December as she helped lead the team to a 5-2 overall record and a perfect 2-0 mark in league play during the month. The junior guard registered double-figure points in five of seven games in December, including a career-high 18 points and nine rebounds in the team's victory over Loyola. Lawless has started all 13 games on the year, and leads the squad in rebounding while ranking fourth in scoring.
In eight games during the month of December, Robinson averaged 22.5 points and 5.1 assists while helping guide the Mount to four wins. The 5-5 guard kicked off the month with a career-high 39 points in a victory over Loyola, and added another 30-point performance in the team's win against Washington College on December 15. Robinson, who has registered 20-plus points in 11 games this season, leads the Northeast Conference and ranks 24th in the nation in scoring, averaging 21.4 points per game.
The Mount St. Mary's men's team is back in action on Thursday (Jan. 4) at home against Bryant at 7 p.m., while the women's squad returns to the court on Saturday (Jan. 6) versus Sacred Heart at 1 p.m. at Knott Arena. Both games can be seen for free at NECFrontRow.com.
