Emmitsburg, Md. (May 10, 2007)—Mount St. Mary’s University recently inducted four new members into the Sports Hall of Fame at its annual Hall of Fame Dinner. Edward Kuhn (C’63), Brad Hiester (C’91), Greg Goles (C’94) and Chris McGuthrie (C’96) make up the class of 2007.
For over forty years, Kuhn has been referring outstanding student athletes to the Mount from the Reading/Berks County, Pa., area. Goles played both soccer and lacrosse at the Mount, excelling in both sports. He is in the top five all-time at the Mount in both games played and started and was a team captain for two years. In addition, he added five career goals as a defender on the lacrosse field, earning team most valuable player honors as a senior. Goles won the Mount’s Kolon Award as a senior, is given to the student-athletes, who through hard work and determination has earned the respect and admiration of his or her fellow athletes and coaches, and who, through inspirational effort has displayed the determination exemplified by the late Jack Kolon.
