Mount St. Mary's seniors Russell Moncure (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) and Matt Nealis (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) have been selected to play in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I/II North-South Senior All-Star Game. The game will be held on Friday at Goucher College in Towson, Md., at 5:30 p.m. The pair will playing on the South squad that is being coach by Mount St. Mary's head coach Tom Gravante.
Moncure was named First Team All-Northeast Conference and Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on defense this year. He led the Mount with 14 caused turnovers while starting all 17 games and picking up 27 ground balls on the year.
Nealis was a First Team All-MAAC selection and Second Team All-NEC pick on defense this season. The senior had eight caused turnovers while picking up 19 ground balls this season while being assigned to the opponents top offensive player.
The Mount lost to Virginia in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on May 15 after winning the MAAC title. Mount St. Mary's finished the season with a 12-5 record, setting the school record for wins.
